Editor's Review

Data Recovery Pro is exactly what it sounds like it would be and is a program that is designed to help you retrieve lost computer data files. This can be in the form of e-mails, music files, and more. Put out by parent company Pareto Logic, this data recovery program can recover files that have been accidentally deleted or that are missing due to computer error.

Overall Rating

While Data Recovery Pro is a good product there are some things that make it less than perfect. Overall we rate this product a 3 out of 5.

Ease of Use

Data Recovery Pro is very easy to use and requires little more from a user other than working the mouse. The program scans your computer for any missing files and reports what it finds.

Because of its one-click interface, which means each step of the data recovery process only takes one click of the mouse, the functionality of the program couldn’t be better. Novices and pros alike can easily control the functionality of this program.

Price was a hard thing to uncover with Data Recovery Pro. While the initial scan is free, if you plan on recovering anything you will have to pay $49.97 in order to do so. The lack of this information on the Data Recovery Pro website is a bit frustrating.

Supported Operating Systems

Data Recovery Pro is designed for a good number of Windows operating systems. Included on their list is Windows 2000, Windows XP, and both the 32-bit versions and the 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Online Feedback

Online feedback for Data Recovery Pro is abundant, but of all the reviews that are non-biased the results are almost 50/50. Many people rave about the ease of use with this program, but others said it was frustrating to not be able to find a price upfront and that customer support was not all that good.

Security Check Status

While Data Recovery Pro does come with some frustrations, it is safe. During our testing of the product it did pass our security check status.

Money Back Guarantee

There is a 100% satisfaction guarantee mentioned, however there is no mention of how easy that guarantee is to actually implement. There is also no mention of what the guarantee covers as far as compensation.

Customer/Technical Support

There is customer support for Data Recovery Pro, but it is not as easy to use as you might think. You have to go through the parent company’s customer service department making the challenge of finding the right department yet another challenge and another frustration.

In conclusion, Data Recovery Pro is a product that works well, but also one that comes with some level of irritation. With a reasonable cost and an easy to use product platform, some of the frustrations can be overlooked.
